💡 General Tipping Etiquette
Tipping is very appreciated in the Dominican Republic, as wages are very low.
🍽️ Restaurants
Round up the bill in a “normal” restaurant or snack place, 10-20 % in a high-end Restaurant or touristy area.
🚕 Taxis
If the price is fixed, tipping is not necessary, unless the price is low. Otherwise rounding up the fare is good, up to 5 $, depending on lenght of the ride
🏨 Hotels
50-200 DOP per transfer for bellhops and per day for maids
👨🌾Tour guides
10-20 % depending on length and price of the tour. If the tour is already high-priced 5% are enough
